Steelhead season starts on Dec. 15 and runs through the end of Feb.  I have a heater in my driftboat but sometimes that's not enough.  Warm clothes and raingear are a must. Maximum number of people per trip is 2.

I travel all over the state chasing winter Steelhead.  My favorite rivers included the Coquille and the Umpqua.  On these rivers, we spend the day sidedrifting with eggs.  I also like to fish the Siuslaw.  Here we will bobber fish and pull plugs.  For 2004, our biggest fish was about 15 pounds and was caught in the Coquille.
